As of January 1, 2010 BEIL Registersysteme GmbH of Abensberg, the
company offering the broadest range of products for printing plate
punches and benders for sheet and roll offset printers, security and
legend printing, has retroactively taken over Berth Maschinenbau GmbH in
Gladenbach. Founded in 1947, Berth is known as a leading manufacturer
of printing plate processing machines for job and newspaper printing.
With this take-over, BEIL Registersysteme GmbH became an all-round
printing plate punch and bender supplier for all print segments. As all
key Berth employees will remain with the company, the take-over will
have no negative side effects for Berth’s customers.
“With this take-over BEIL can offer all the automated printing plate
processing levels from a single source,” explain Günter Beil and Stefan
Kreitczick, the Managing Directors of BEIL Registersysteme GmbH. “We are
delighted that the key employees of Berth, and therefore also their
expert know-how, will stay with the company.”
The current Managing Director of Berth Maschinenbau GmbH, Christoph
Thielmann, will take the future lead over BEIL Gruppe’s complete design
engineering in Abensberg. In addition to managing the continued
development of printing plate processing machines, Christoph Thielmann’s
principal focus will be on the development of an innovative printing
plate handling and transport system. In this particular field BEIL has
been Koenig & Bauer AG’s official technology partner since the end
of last year. An additional task for the new engineering director and
his team will be customer-specific special solutions.
BEIL Registersysteme GmbH in Abensberg and Berth Maschinenbau GmbH in
Gladenbach, both owner-managed companies, have worked together closely
over many years. Since the beginning of 2008 BEIL was responsible for
the worldwide sales or Berth products, and also from a technical point
of view the companies joined forces on a number of development projects.
Despite the challenging market, last year BEIL Gruppe succeeded in
selling several fully automated printing plate processing installations
on both national and international markets with a high level of customer
satisfaction. For this year a number of projects are already in the
pipeline. In line with its global sales and marketing activities BEIL
will be present at the IPEX in Birmingham (18th to 25th of May 2010,
Hall 6, Stand D559).
For a maximum of 3.000 mm plate width and a throughput of up to 350
plates per hour, the punching and bending machines of BEIL Gruppe
guarantee its customers the required tolerances for radii and angles, as
well as parallelism.
